Sometimes the best thing to do is to take a break for clarity. I've had a meditation practice for more than ten years. On good days and bad days I've meditated. I've meditated in joy and I've meditated in grief. Under great stress and when waiting for exciting news. Meditation has always helped me to keep an even keel in life.
Even short meditation can have profound effect on your life. Research has shown that beginning meditators see effect from meditation after just a single week of meditating for like ten minutes. Meditation has physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing effects on a person. Meditation can make you look and feel much younger than you actually are. Recently I ran into someone that thought I was in my twenties: I'll just say I'm not! This isn't the first time I hear it, as a matter of fact, I hear this quite often.
So don't just "do something" -- try sitting there. It could do you great good!
